A grandmother has married again at the age of 86, more than two decades after the death of her first husband.

Millie Taylor-Morrison’s story was shared to the Facebook page Love What Matters yesterday, where it has since been liked more than 85,000 reactions and has amassed more than 5000 comments.

"This is my beautiful grandmother, Millie Taylor-Morrison, who was married over the weekend at 86-years-old," grandchild K. Elkharbibi wrote.

The post includes a photo of the elderly Ms Taylor-Morrison standing on the landing of a stairwell in a purple wedding dress clutching a bouquet of flowers.

Ms Taylor-Morrison’s marriage comes 25 years following the death of her former husband, with whom she had been married for 41 years.

K. Elkharbibi said their family was overjoyed at Ms Taylor-Morrison’s remarriage.

“This is a true testament that age is just a number and everyone can find love again,” they wrote.
