Govt acts on WA parents being ripped off

A public outcry about the parents of sick children being slugged thousands of dollars in parking fees and fines has pressured the West Australian government into taking action.

The hourly rate Wilsons Parking will charge at the new Perth Children's Hospital will be more than five times that at the old Princess Margaret Hospital.

But Health Minister John Day said he had asked the health department to improve hospital parking concession arrangements to help families in distress.
