Government too busy for federal election
AAP
Treasurer Joe Hockey has dismissed suggestion of an early federal election, saying the federal government has enough on its plate.
The government has a huge agenda of reform, including tax and federation, as well as dealing with issues such as domestic violence and how the nation resettles 12,000 refugees from Middle East conflicts.
"There is a by-election this weekend ... that's enough elections in my view," Mr Hockey told 3AW radio, referring to the Western Australian poll in the seat of Canning.
