Homeless woman 'bashed and stomped on' in sickening attack

Police are hunting for a man they believe bashed and stomped on a homeless woman in Ipswich. 

Queensland Police said the 49-year-old woman was found in bushland near a shopping centre in Goodna on April 12 with serious facial injuries, including a broken nose, a split lip, fractured eye sockets and bruising.

"The woman was also seen with an imprint on her cheek believed to be from the sole of a shoe," police said. 

CCTV released today showed the woman with a man who police believe may be able to help with their inquiries. 

In the images, the pair are seen on Smiths Road earlier in the evening.
