Good Samaritan stabbed with garden shears during Brisbane road rage incident

A 57-year-old man has been hospitalised after he was allegedly stabbed with garden shears while trying to stop a driver from fleeing the scene of a road rage incident in Brisbane’s north.

It is believed a man driving a Kia had aside-swiped a Toyota Hilux at Geebung and then sped off, with the Hilux in pursuit.

The Kia then spun out of control and smashed into a light pole.

The 57-year-old passer-by heard the crash and attempted to restrain the Kia driver to stop him fleeing, but was allegedly stabbed in the back with a pair of garden shears while attempting to make the citizen’s arrest.

He was taken to hospital and is understood to be recovering well.

The Kia driver has been charged with unlawful wounding, while the other driver is still speaking with police.

Investigations are ongoing.
