Woman bashed by two others in Gold Coast nightclub bathroom
A woman has been bashed by two women in a nightclub bathroom on the Gold Coast.
Nicole Mauger from Mermaid Waters claims she was in a booth in The Bedroom nightclub in Surfers Paradise on Monday night with friends when a “pack of about 20 girls” joined them uninvited.
Upon asking them to leave, the 22-year-old was threatened.
She was told the group was going to hurt her and asked her when she planned to leave the club.
About an hour later, she went to the bathroom alone and was set upon. She recalls being hit from behind before falling to the floor.
She said two women used their high-heeled shoes as weapons, causing her to lose consciousness.
“I just remember them stomping on me,” she said.
“It was honestly disgusting. I’m unconscious on the ground and they’re stomping me.”
A witness, who was in a cubicle when the attack started, pushed the women off her.
Bruising is visible on Ms Mauger’s face and chest, her left arm and shoulder.
Ms Mauger was accompanied to hospital by police but was unable to make a formal statement that night as she was under the influence of alcohol.
She has since reported the incident to police.
She said the women responsible were apprehended by security guards before leaving the venue.
Ms Mauger works in Surfers Paradise, but told 9NEWS she won’t be going back.
