Gold Coast man charged with murder

Investigations into what police thought was a non-suspicious death have led to a man being charged with murder on the Gold Coast.

Police were called to a Southport home on Wednesday after reports a man, 40, had died.

At the time officers said his death was not suspicious.

But following investigations police charged another man, 49, with murder on Sunday.

Both men were known to each other.

The older man has also been charged with unlawfully possessing a dangerous drug.

He's due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
