Woman struck by lightning in shower

A woman has been struck by lightning inside her home during a storm on the Gold Coast today.

An electrical storm rolled across the city today, lighting up the overcast sky.

The Hollywell woman was in the shower when electricity travelled through the house.

Her husband told 9News she felt as if her whole body shook.

"The balls of her feet were all red and her lips were all tingly," he said.

She was taken to hospital as a precaution.
