Gold Coast jewellery store robbed in early morning Westfield ram-raid

Video of the moment a driver used an allegedly stolen vehicle to plough straight through reinforced security doors at a jewellery store has emerged.

In CCTV released by Gold Coast police, glass is seen exploding and panels collapsing as an Audi Q5 is driven into Coomera Westfield's Wallace Bishop store.

The driver of the car is seen emerging from the car donning a surgical mask and wielding a hammer.

The incident happened about 4.30am Wednesday. Queensland Police

He smashes his way through the displays one by one, taking only specific items.

The passenger who remained in the car was wearing a balaclava.

Detective Inspector Chris Ahearn said several trays of silver jewellery were stolen.

"We believe it's around $6000 worth and then further there's significant damage to the centre and the store," Det. Insp. Ahearn said.

"We believe that damage to be in the vicinity of $15,000. A number of large glass doors and cabinetry were smashed by the offenders."

Police are still searching for the alleged offenders who remain on the run.

"We've got some good CCTV footage from the location," Det. Insp. Ahearn said.

"We're looking for a Caucasian male who was wearing a black puffer jacket with a black beanie, black shoes and tan-coloured pants and a surgical mask over his face."

The Audi was stolen from the Seven Hills area on Sunday and has distinctive roof racks.

Police say the vehicle is likely to have suffered significant damage in the robbery.
