Go easy with federal budget: Holden boss

The federal government's budget cuts could harm Australia's economy, the Holden boss says.

Holden general manager Gerry Dorizas said there was no way of knowing how budget cuts would affect the economy but he expected negative customer sentiments and reduced consumer confidence.

He urged the government to take care.

"I think local business leaders have already expressed their concern about different budget measures," he told reporters on Thursday.

"I'm no different from everyone else. I think everyone is saying please be careful with the announcements. I agree."
