Giant rodents take steamy citrus-infused bath at Japanese zoo

Footage of a group of giant rodents enjoying a bath at a Japanese Zoo has received hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

The capybaras are seen enjoying a long soak, infused with yuzus, an East Asian citrus fruit.

The South American rodents don't seem to mind getting up and close and personal with each other, with six of them squeezing into the same bath.

But it appears some are taking the relaxation a little too far, as suspicious brown lumps can be seen floating amongst the citrus.

The furry animals are the largest rodent in the world and are a close relative of the guinea pig.

They can weigh about 45kg and are the size of a large dog.
