George and Amal Clooney to become parents

George and Amal Clooney are set to become parents after announcing they’re expecting twins.

A close friend of the couple confirmed the news on American daytime TV show, The Talk.

"The Talk can confirm that the 55-year-old superstar and his highly accomplished 39-year-old attorney wife are expecting twins," Julie Chen, a co-host on The Talk, announced.

The revelation came during major speculation the human rights lawyer was pregnant after she was pictured in a loose-fitting sweater.

The twins, due in June, will be the first children for the pair, who married in Venice in 2014.

The sexes of the twins has not been revealed.

The announcement comes only days after superstar Beyoncé revealed she too was expecting twins.
