Gas explosion leaves two Sydney men with severe burns

A gas explosion has left two men in hospital after an accident at a home in Sydney’s west.

The men, both in their 30s, were decanting a gas bottle for a barbecue at a Castle Hill unit when it exploded.

A neighbour ran to help the men, retrieving water for their burns.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion, attending to the men before taking them to hospital.

Both men remain in hospital with extensive burns to their bodies.
