Garbage truck crashes into home in Sydney

A garbage truck has crashed through the front fence of a Sydney home after a collision with another truck.

Morning traffic has been delayed because of the crash in Wattle Street in Haberfield, just before 5am today.

The garbage truck was completing its rounds and had stopped on the side of the road when it was hit by a fruit truck.

The homeowner was outside the home at the time, having risen early to go out, but was not hurt.

Both male drivers were assessed by paramedics but were also unharmed.

All citybound lanes of Wattle Street have reopened but traffic remains heavy.
