Garage collapses on car and driver at Canada Bay in Sydney's inner west

A garage has collapsed onto a car with an elderly driver inside at Canada Bay in Sydney's inner west.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Walker Street around 8.15am when it’s believed the man, aged in his 80s, may have been trying to reverse out of the garage when the car hit part of the structure, bringing it down.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews were able to stabilise the building and remove one side of the car to free the man.
An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said extricating the man from the wreckage was a "delicate process" that took almost an hour.
He was treated for an injury to his hand and transported to Sydney Hospital in a stable condition.
