Gambaro won't run for Speaker job

Queensland Liberal National MP Teresa Gambaro says she won't run for the role of Speaker.

Ms Gambaro said she had been humbled to see her name mentioned as a potential candidate to fill the role being vacated by Bronwyn Bishop.

"I am 100 percent focused on representing the people of Brisbane vigorously in the parliament and as such I will not be a candidate for the position," she told AAP in a statement this evening.
