Police close in on two women involved in ugly brick attack

Police say they have identified both women involved in a frightening attack involving a brick on Melbourne’s Monash Freeway.

Three women, aged in their early 20s, were driving between Hallam and Narre Warren about 11am on November 19 when two other women pulled up alongside them in an allegedly stolen gold Toyota Echo.

Footage released by detectives shows the women in the Echo hurling abuse before throwing a plastic bottle and then a brick.

It is understood police are actively searching the pair but are yet to make any arrests. 

Police said the brick caused minor damage to the victim's car, but the three women were uninjured.

The attackers' vehicle was found abandoned in Fitzroy.

The driver is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her mid to late 20s with long dark hair.

The front passenger is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her mid to late 20s with short, bleached blonde hair.
