Fresh search underway for NSW dad missing since 2012

A search has resumed for the remains of a father-of-five missing since 2012 from Hawkesbury, north-west of Sydney.

Specialist police officers, sniffer dogs, mounted police, SES personnel and rural firefighters began to search dense bushland at Colo Heights for Quinn Martin today.

Mr Martin, 35, disappeared in December 2012 while at a Putty Road property with his partner and two of his five children.

He was working in scrub but failed to return to the house, police have been told.

Police suspect he may have met with foul play, and said the focus of the search was “what we think might be skeletal remains of this missing person in bushland out the back of Colo Heights”.

Earlier this month, his partner Jana Murphy appealed for information about his disappearance.

“The pain my family has gone through since that time is indescribable, and I would never wish any other family to go through what we have gone through since the disappearance,” she said.

The search is expected to continue until Wednesday.
