Fresh NSW faces set to join the Senate

Senators for NSW have been confirmed, with five fresh faces entering the upper house when parliament resumes in a fortnight.

However, outspoken Liberal senator Jim Molan won't be returning, despite receiving 137,325 "below the line" votes.

His fourth place on the coalition's NSW ticket made re-election virtually impossible in a half-Senate election.

The former Army major-general is keeping all of his options open, including a tilt at a casual vacancy caused by the retirement of Liberal senator Arthur Sinodinos who has been appointed ambassador to Washington.

Mehreen Faruqi from the Greens is the only returning NSW senator from the spots which were up for election on May 18.

Liberals Hollie Hughes and Andrew Bragg were on Monday declared successful after being in the top two spots on the coalition ticket, with Nationals' Perin Davey also victorious.

Tim Ayres and Tony Sheldon are set to join Labor's upper house team.

There are six continuing senators from NSW, evenly split between the Liberals and Labor.

To date, there have been Senate declarations in the NT, ACT and Tasmania.

The result for WA will be formally declared on Wednesday.

All 151 House of Representatives seats have now been declared.
