'We were having sex. She's dead. That's it': Melbourne man guilty of killing migrant mum

A Supreme Court jury in Victoria has again found a man guilty of domestic murder, following a string of recent identical convictions.

Anthony Freeman pleaded not guilty to murdering Yosi Solomon, a mother of one, who migrated from Kenya.

The jury heard the 35-year-old victim had been in a relationship with her killer for a month when he stabbed her during sex.

She had made a jibe to the 44-year-old, which triggered the attack in Essex Street, Prahran, in November 2013.

At 12.30am, a neighbour in the unit block heard an argument.

After stabbing Ms Solomon in the neck with a kitchen knife, Freeman yelled from his balcony so neighbours heard.

He said, "I've killed her."

He then called Triple Zero saying, "Oh my Lord, she's gone. We were having sex. She's dead. That's it."

He also called his sister and was on the phone to her when police arrived.

He told officers, "She's dead - Yosi, my missus, I stabbed her in the neck."

Freeman's defence argued he did not intend to kill, but the prosecution pointed out it was a dangerous part of the body to be using a knife.

The jury agreed it was a case of intentional killing, dismissing the alternative charge of manslaughter.

Two of Ms Solomon's female relatives were in court for the verdict. One of them cried.

Freeman had been unemployed at the time after suffering a workplace injury.

He'll be sentenced at a later date.
