Senator Fraser Anning dumped by KAP over 'racist' language

Controversial Senator Fraser Anning has been dumped by Katter's Australian Party over continued “racist” language.

Party leader Bob Katter said 99 percent of what Mr Anning has said is “solid gold” but one percent is “totally unacceptable”.

He said the Senator had been repeatedly warned but had refused to back down.

Mr Katter said Senator Anning's position clearly became untenable when he introduced a bill to limit migration, using the terms “Europeans” and “non-Europeans”.

“The riot act was read,” Mr Katter said.

“I could not have made it more clear.

“I was very angry and very definite.

“We cannot and will not have members of parliament dividing Australia along racial Europeans and non-Europeans divides.”

Mr Anning joined the party in June, after walking away from Pauline Hanson’s One Nation immediately on his elevation to the Senate.

He sparked outrage in his maiden speech, when he used the words “final solution”, a term used in Nazi Germany against the Jews - a speech Mr Katter fully backed.

Mr Katter said the policies of his party were non-racist.

“In spite of the most severe and clear warnings, Senator Anning has continued down this pathway and consequently we announce the termination of his endorsement by the KAP,” Mr Katter said.

“Clearly Fraser wants the freedom to pursue his crusade.

“And we think it’s best for he and the party to give him this freedom.”
