Three people have been taken to a Sydney hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning after an outdoor barbeque was used inside a unit in Liverpool.

Emergency services were called after smoke was seen billowing from the property in Sydney’s south-west.

An eight-year-old girl was among those taken to hospital.

NSW Ambulance Inspector John Brotherhood said the priority was to ensure the group was well and safe.

“It was an unfortunate situation but it had a good outcome at the end,” he said.

The group is now believed to be in a stable condition.
