Four men on the run after hitting man with metal bar on the Gold Coast

Police are searching for four men after they hit a man with a metal bar during a burglary in Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast.

Authorities say the group of men forced their way into a residence on Ocean Street around 2.45pm yesterday.

They then repeatedly hit the homeowner, a 49-year-old man, in the face with a metal bar, before stealing his laptop, phone and car keys.

The thieves then fled the scene in the man’s car, a black 2008 Lexus sedan with registration “314TNR”.

The victim was taken to Robina Hospital with facial fractures and remains in a stable condition.

One of the robbers is described as being of a Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s to early 30s with a slim build, blond hair and a tattoo of the word “loyalty” on the left side of his face.

He was wearing a black shirt and shorts, police said.

Another one of the men was wearing similar clothing and is also described as Caucasian, but with a large build and short brown hair.
