Woman fighting for life after two car crash in Sydney's west

One woman is fighting for her life and three others have been hospitalised after a two-car crash in western Sydney overnight.

A Toyota van and Honda CR-V collided as they drove along the Great Western Highway in Minchinbury around 9.30pm yesterday.

It appears both vehicles had a green light, but collided when the Honda turned in front of the Toyota.

The driver of the Honda, a 53-year-old woman, and her two female passengers, were trapped in the vehicle for a short time and had to be removed before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

The 53-year-old woman, had to be placed into an induced coma at the scene and remains in a critical condition.

The 43-year-old male driver of the Toyota was treated at the scene before also being taken to hospital.

He and the two female passengers are all in a stable condition.
