Former NRL player says he’s scored a WWE contract

A former Brisbane Broncos player has claimed he has a future wrestling career in the works with the WWE.

Daniel Vidot said on his Facebook page that he had attended a three-day trial at the WWE’s official school in Florida, the WWE Performance Center.

“WWE trial finished. And they said.... yes,” he wrote.

“They’re keen to sign me. Three year deal is what it's looking like, but won't be til a couple years away.”

Vidot said he will see out his existing sporting contracts in Australia before moving to the US.

“But first, finish off my rugby contract (which I can't reveal to you as yet) then am looking to do the switch! Big choices.”

Vidot also thanked the “haters” for fueling his motivation, and told young people to follow their dreams.

“To all the young youth out there… Don't doubt your dreams, don't listen to the haters talking behind your back. They are all behind you for a reason,” he wrote.

The Samoan athlete made his NRL debut in 2009 with the Canberra Raiders, then played for the St George Dragons in 2012 and the Brisbane Broncos in 2014.

He has also played for Samoa in the World Cup, and in the Queensland Cup between NRL contracts.
