Brazen snatch and grab robbery from business in Footscray

A man has stolen a wallet in a brazen snatch and grab from a business in Melbourne’s inner-west last month.

The offender initially looked to purchase something from the Byron Street business in Footscray on November 21 before telling staff he needed to withdraw cash and would return.

The victim was closing up shop about 5.50pm when the offender returned and snatched a wallet which contained cash and cards.

The staff member tried to wrestle the wallet back from the offender and was flung to the ground in the scuffle, causing minor injuries.

The offender fled on foot before jumping into a silver BMW which drove off and was later located on Hanover Street in Footscray.
