Queensland Rugby League rocked by injury of young dad

James Ackerman collapsed in a tackle yesterday and is now fighting for life in hospital.

Five minutes into the Sunshine Coast's game against Norths at Nunday, the 25-year-old went down in a tackle but never got up.

Paramedics worked on the father-of-two for 40 minutes, while the game was called off.

Mr Ackerman had recently moved clubs to be back on the Sunshine Coast with his family.

Within hours of his injury, the club set up a Facebook page in support.
