Fly-in fly-out is 'postcode apartheid': MP

A federal Queensland MP seeking to ban 100 per cent fly-in fly-out schemes has labelled them "postcode apartheid".

George Christensen has introduced to parliament a private bill that seeks to stop mining companies from recruiting employees based on their proximity to airports.

The Nationals MP has told ABC radio he is concerned workers in rural Queensland are missing out on opportunities because job advertisements require applicants to live within 100km of Brisbane or Cairns airports.
