Florida beachgoers unite to save stranded manatees

A crowd of beachgoers in Florida proved many hands make light work by uniting to save a group of stranded manatees.

Videos of the gallant efforts to save up to seven of the beached animals on Clearwater beach was posted to the town’s Fire & Rescue Department’s Twitter page.

People can be seen splashing water on the animals and attempting to push them back into the ocean.

It’s believed the manatees became beached from high winds and rough seas, the department told the Tampa Bay Times.

“Young and old alike teamed up to try and help the manatees,” the department tweeted.
