Airlines will resume flights between Bali and Australia this morning

Flights between Bali and Australia are set to resume this morning, though passengers are advised to check with their airline in case of delays.

Planes at Denpasar Airport were grounded overnight due to the nearby volcanic ash cloud that has been interrupting flights for the past two weeks.

It was earlier announced airlines Virgin and Jetstar were unsure when they would be getting off the tarmac.

However, Jetstar has now announced it will resume flights to Denpasar, with the first plane scheduled to leave Melbourne at 7am (AEST).

The airline hopes to carry out all flights to and from the airport at their scheduled times today, but passengers are still advised to check for delays.

Virgin is also likely to resume flights, though it has presumed delays of one to two hours and will reassess at 10am (AEST).
