Flights delayed and traffic affected as thick fog blankets Brisbane

Heavy flog blanketing Brisbane has cause heavy traffic delays across the city and is delaying flights at Brisbane Airport.

The fog, which rolled in overnight, is expected to clear by 8am, a spokesman for Weatherzone told 9news.com.au.

“It should move north-west, with winds directed that way,” the spokesman said.

“And as the sun rises, the temperature will burn away the fog.”

Brisbane Airport confirmed flight delays on Twitter, warning commuters their flights may be impacted. 

By 6.30am a total of 25 morning flights were listed as delayed on the Brisbane Airport website, with at least one flight diverted.

Roads across Brisbane are also congested, with drivers warned to remain cautious in difficult conditions.  Three incidents have already been reported on Brisbane roads this morning by Snarl – the city’s live traffic program.
