Estonia will host Australia's first ever "pop-up" embassy.
In an Australian first, the post will operate in the capital Tallinn for two months each year, and will have a "virtual presence" for the remainder of the year.
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced the opening while meeting her Estonian counterpart in New York on Thursday, with career diplomat Kerin Ayyalaraju appointed ambassador.
