First electronic petitions for parliament

Parliament has accepted its first-ever batch of electronic petitions.

The lower house's new website streamlines the process to allow people to lodge and track petitions online.

Liberal MP and chair of the petitions committee Ross Vasta expects the new system to reduce the number of "out of order" petitions.
