Fire creates unique beach wedding photos

A suspicious fire has made a pair of Sydney newlyweds' special day even more unforgettable, by "photobombing" their wedding shoot.

The out-of-control fire began burning within metres of the beach at Dunningham Reserve, Coogee, yesterday afternoon, with firefighters alerted just before 5pm.

The newlyweds and their photographer discovered the fire while walking to the headlands.

"The poor couple, they just finished their ceremony, we were about to head, where we saw smoke and it just erupted so quickly," photographer Matthew Regan told 9NEWS.

"I'd say this makes them a pretty hot couple," he joked.

Once the fire was contained the couple posed for photos, albeit with some in the background.

Fire crews said they had been called to five fires in the area in the past fortnight, and police have confirmed they are treating the blaze as suspicious.
