Dozens charged with drug offences at Sydney Field Day festival

Police charged 85 people with drug offences at the New Year's Day music festival, Field Day.

There were up to 11,900 people in attendance at the Domain in Sydney yesterday, with police arresting 81 people for possession of drugs and two with supply.

A police operation targeting "anti-social behaviour, alcohol-related crime, and illegal drug use" involved multiple units, including sniffer dogs.

A 22-year-old was allegedly found with 50 capsules of the drug MDMA after being detected by the Dog Unit.

A police officer was injured during an alleged struggle during his search.

He was arrested and taken to Day Police Station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug, assaulting police, and resisting arrest.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.

Police seized MDMA, ketamine, psilocin (mushrooms), LSD, cocaine and cannabis.
