Sixteen federal MPs and senators have failed to certify their expenses on time.

The Finance Department requires members of parliament to certify that their travel and other entitlement claims are within the law.

While Speaker Bronwyn Bishop is among a long list of MPs to have certified their claims for the latest publicly declared period, July to December 2014, many have not done so.
