Fed assistance for Aurukun community-PM

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has offered federal assistance to deal with unruly kids in the indigenous community of Aurukun, after its teachers were removed due to safety concerns.

Mr Turnbull spoke with Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk on Thursday telling her his government was "very alert" to problems in the community and would work with the state to help bring the situation under control.

"Clearly there is an element of the adolescent kids there in Aurukun who are not going to school and making a lot of mischief and that needs to be dealt with," he told reporters in central Queensland.
