One dead in Victorian road crash
One person has been killed and another is fighting for his life after a road crash in western Victoria.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash near an overpass on the Western Freeway at Mount Rowan at about 6.10am.

Police believe a car travelling east on the freeway hit a pillar of the overpass and caught fire. The driver – who is yet to be identified – died at the scene.
Then a second collision between two cars trying to avoid the crash followed. A male driver was trapped before being freed from the wreckage and airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Western Freeway is closed in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Police are investigating the crashes.
