One killed after truck smashes into car on Sydney highway

A brutal smash between a car and truck in Sydney's south has left a person dead.

It is understood one person was killed when a truck and a ute collided on the Princes Highway at Carss Park about 12.30.

It is the 164th fatality on NSW's roads in 2015, compared to 159 at the same time last year.

NSW police are expected to make a statement on the crash at 2pm AEST.
