Fast-moving bushfire near Esperance threatening homes and lives in WA

Residents in Western Australia’s southern coast have been told to evacuate their homes due to a fast-moving bushfire, posing a danger to lives and homes.
The fire is threatening Myrup, northeast of Esperance, with a bushfire emergency warning issued for people in an area bounded by Hills Road, Lake Road and Quarry Road.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said the fire had broken containment lines near Mullet Lakes and was "moving fast in a north-westerly direction".

Firefighters spent the night back-burning in an effort to establish containment lines and were expecting a wind change around midday.
A total fire ban has been declared in Perth today due to hot and windy conditions coupled with a severe fire danger.
More than 100 firefighters are fighting the blaze, along with aerial assistance.
