Family First's days come to an end

Family First has become the 11th party to be deregistered at a federal level this year.
The party was first registered with the Australian Electoral Commission in March 2004 but voluntarily deregistered on Wednesday after its senior members joined Cory Bernardi's Australian Conservatives.
The party's last federal member was South Australian senator Bob Day, who resigned in November 2016 and was disqualified by the High Court earlier this year over a leasing arrangement for his electorate office.

His position went to lawyer Lucy Gichuhi, but she decided to sit as an independent.
