Just last week fallen AFL recruit Dayle Garlett wanted to turn his life around.

"I don't want to go to jail", the 20-year-old West Australian said at the time.

But it looks like that's where he'll be heading.

Last week it was Geraldton court - today Fremantle - where he admitted breaking into this Spearwood home.

Garlett and an accomplice smashed a window with a screwdriver to get inside but Garlett cut his leg on the glass, leaving his blood behind on this curtain and his DNA on a can of soft drink.

The once promising Hawthorn Hawks recruit has accrued a rich criminal history.

Garlett was under an intensive supervision order when the break-in happened last week.

Three days later he pleaded guilty to speeding, drug possession and stealing petrol and November he was sentenced over a string of burglary related charges.

Garlett is now in custody – he is likely to be jailed when sentenced next month
