Facebook folly crushes Victorian Liberal candidate's Bendigo bid

Liberal candidates will gather at party headquarters tomorrow after another parliamentary hopeful was forced to step down for offensive online comments.

After a career in constructions, Jack Lyons political dreams have collapsed.

Premier Denis Napthine said the comments were “not acceptable” for anyone standing for public office.

Mr Lyons was yesterday dumped as a candidate for numerous posts including, “doctor’s waiting rooms need more women and a pole in the middle of the room.”

“Ladies first is just a nice way of me saying let me look at your butt.”

The aspiring candidate for Bendigo also claimed the city needed an enema and dubbed the historic Golden Dragon Museum the Ching Chong gardens.

Local Liberals must now go through the process of selecting a new candidate.
