Extra federal bursaries for young carers

Young carers will have access to 150 new bursaries to further their education.
It will double the number of federal bursaries on offer to carers aged up to 25 to continue study or vocational training.
The move announced by Prime Minister Tony Abbott in Tasmania on Monday will cost the government $450,000.

More than 300,000 carers aged under 25 look after people with disability, people with physical or mental health issues, or older people.
