Evacuation after train fire in Brisbane

A train fire has prompted an evacuation at a station near Brisbane during peak hour.

An emergency services spokesman said a carriage on a passenger train at Morayfield, north of Brisbane, caught fire just after 9am.

Firefighters had the blaze under control about 9.20am and were working to put out flames beneath the carriage.

The station had been evacuated before crews arrived.

An ambulance spokesman said one person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

There were no injuries.
