Family and friends of a rising equestrian star killed while competing in NSW are due to farewell the teen at a funeral in Sydney.

Seventeen-year-old Olivia Inglis was crushed when her horse tripped and fell during an event in the Hunter Valley earlier this month.

Olivia was the eldest daughter of horse breeding identities Arthur and Charlotte Inglis.

She is to be farewelled at a service at St Jude's Anglican Church in the eastern Sydney suburb of Randwick on Monday.

Mourners have been asked to donate to a scholarship fund for young riders instead of bringing flowers.
