Employers gain access to VET transcripts

Businesses and recruitment agencies will be able to directly access the academic records of vocational education students under a Morrison government proposal.
Assistant VET minister Steve Irons introduced draft laws to parliament on Thursday, saying they would allow employers to verify student results.
Mr Irons insisted students would have their privacy protected because they could decide to give limited access to third parties, and could choose to remove incomplete subjects from their record.
