An emergency warning has been downgraded to a watch and act by the Country Fire Authority for the town of Ruffy in north-east Victoria.
Fire crews at Creighton's Creek managed to stop the spread of the grassfire.

While the immediate threat has passed, people who live on or near Creightons Creek Road, Bonds Lane and Buntings Hill Road have been advised to leave the area in case conditions change suddenly.
More than 30 trucks have been battling the grassfire, as aircraft attempted to protect the homes that cannot be reached by ground fire crews.
