Elderly woman killed in Barossa highway crash
An elderly woman has become the first person killed in a road accident in South Australia this year. (9NEWS)
An 81-year-old woman has died in a two-car crash at Shea-Oak Log, about 67km north-east of Adelaide, in South Australia’s first fatal crash this year.
Two cars collided at the intersection of the Thiele Highway and Roseworthy Road about 9.30am, police said.
A passenger from one of the cars was airlifted to Royal Adelaide Hospital with spinal injuries, while another was taken to Lyell McEwin Hospital by road and is in a stable condition.
No information on the passengers' ages or genders was available, an Ambulance SA spokeswoman said.
Northbound traffic on Thiele Highway has been blocked, with diversions in place.
