Elderly Vic man dies after crash

An elderly man whose car was hit by a truck in outer Melbourne earlier this month has died in hospital.

Police believe the man, 81, was turning right when hit by the truck at Cranbourne on April 12.

The Wantirna man was taken to hospital with critical injuries and died on Monday.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

The state road toll for 2014 stands at 81 compared to 71 this time last year.
